Your BVN (Bank Verification Number) is an 11 digit number that gives your account a unique identity that cuts across the banking industry of Nigeria.
It protects your account(s) from unauthorized access and is accepted as a mean of identification across all Nigerian banks and may well be used in some other activities.
Regardless of the service provider you’re using (MTN, 9Mobile, Glo, Airtel), there is a unique code that you can use to check your BVN at the cost of N10 or slightly more, provided it is the same number registered to it.
Simply dial *565*0# and wait a bit, then your BVN will appear on the screen of your phone.
How To Get Your BVN
- Visit the branch of any bank you have opened an account with.
- Make your request know to the customer care that you wish to get your Bank Verification Number.
- Complete the biometric process and you should receive an enrolment ticket ID
- Your Bank Verification Number should be delivered to your phone number (that which you registered to it) in 48 hours or less.
