The Lagos State Government has iterated its stance on the re-opening of event centres in the state.
There are prerequisites to be met before an event centre can be re-opened, a major one being the projected maximum capacity to be allowed is one-fifth the capacity of each event centre, and a maximum limited capacity of 500 regardless of the size of the event centre.
However, there is a caveat for the re-opening of any event centre. The ‘register-to-open’ initiative recently announced by the Lagos State Government is aimed towards ensuring and certifying the safety preparedness of any event centre before they are allowed to open for any activities. Registration is on-going through the Lagos Safety Commission’s Portal.
The Lagos State Government also announced that religious gatherings will be allowed to re-open on the 21st of June following after a 3-month ban since April, earlier in the year.
They have also been restricted to a maximum capacity of 40% of attendees and 500 people regardless of size. Read more here.
