Uche Eze- Pedro is the founder of Bellanaija.com, a leading entertainment, lifestyle, and fashion website in Africa. It was founded on the 1st of July 2006. She also owns a media company called BaineStone Limited, which focuses on the development and management of innovative and exciting media content for Africans online.
Uche Eze- Pedro was born on the 26th of July, 1984. She had her early education in Nigeria, before obtaining a BS.c in Business Administration at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Canada.
The Emergence of Bellanaija
Prior to starting her
Ever since she started Bellanaija, she has achieved lots of Success. Punch rated her as the 22nd of the top 100 people, places, events and things that shaped the year 2008. In 2010, she was given Outstanding Contribution to Fashion Communication Award at the African Fashion Week held by African Fashion International (AFI) in Johannesburg, South Africa. She was featured on Beauty Around the World in February 2010, along stars like Jessica Simpson and Lisa Ling.
She was also featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show.In 2011, Uche Eze- Pedro emerged as finalist of Future Awards “Young Person of the Year”. Her company BainStone Limited was among the 50 High Potential Nigerian SMEs and awarded a British Airways Opportunity Grant.
In 2012, she won the FABS Award for the “Online Publication of the Year”, and The Future Awards for The “Young Media Entrepreneur of the Year” and many other awards.
When asked during an interview what advice she has for upcoming entrepreneurs here’s what she had to say below.
“There is no fixed career path. My advice is to look inwards, find your passion; find your niche and go for it! Don’t overthink it. While you are thinking, someone might launch your idea”.
Uche got married on the 16th of June, 2012 to Bode Adegboyega Pedro, whose father was the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State from 2003 – 2007.
